Our Founder & CEO

Rennie M. Taylor, Ed.D.

Rennie is a seasoned educational leader who knows how to design learning systems to maximize teaching and learning opportunities to support student academic success. He is highly effective at mentoring, coaching, and challenging school leaders, teacher-leaders and aspiring school administrators to reflect on best practices regarding instructional design and school leadership. Rennie founded Advancing Communities for Change to foster an environment where educators can refine their leaderships skills while creating a greater impact on their communities.


Under his leadership as principal, Rennie’s school was recognized by the New York Times in 2014, the Southern Foundation in 2014, the United States Department of Education in 2015, and the Education Trust in 2016. Rennie has served on different panels at the Brookings Institute, the American Institute of Research, and Georgetown University. Over the years, he trained and supported educational leaders in 15 states in the USA and five countries. Additionally, Rennie is a 2020-2021 CityBridge Fellow. 


Rennie earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Andrews University. He has a Master’s degree in Special Education from Liberty University. He earned an Education Specialist degree and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership with distinction from Liberty University. Outside of professional work, Rennie loves spending time in nature and going for walks with his family.
